Many moms raised in alcoholic families learned early how to survive — staying alert, holding it together, putting everyone else first, and pushing their own needs aside just to get through the day.
Motherhood adds pressure for any parent. But for moms with this history, it often activates old survival patterns learned long ago — experienced through the nervous system and stored in the body’s fascia — making stress and emotional overwhelm feel constant and exhausting.
Inside our village, you’re not asked to push through, control your emotions, or think your way out of overwhelm. Instead, you’ll explore how to feel again — safely — by tuning into your body and learning how stress and emotions actually move through you. As your nervous system begins to feel safer, emotions stop taking over and start becoming allies and messengers, rather than something you have to fight or suppress.
This is what makes it possible to pause, choose, and respond — instead of reacting on autopilot.
The practices inside our village are grounded in the wisdom and science of Kundalini Yoga, offered through a trauma-conscious, embodied lens that honors choice and agency. Kundalini Yoga works with both the physical body and more subtle layers — using intentional movement, breath, sound and moments of sensing and integration — to support nervous system awareness and emotional processing.
This foundation is gently supported by practices such as Yoga Nidra for deep rest, intuitive movement, and restorative and yin-inspired shapes, which help bodies feel safe, familiar, and receptive over time. Together, these elements create a spacious, choice-based container that supports nervous system healing, emotional integration and recognition, and reconnection with the body.
Inside this village, you are not asked to push through, control or suppress your emotions, or think your way into healing.
Instead, you are invited to slow down, pause, and explore what it feels like to listen to your body again — safely, gently, and at your own pace.
Our yoga practices are trauma-conscious, somatic, choice-based, and grounded in embodied nervous system awareness. This means we meet you exactly where you are. You are always encouraged to honor your limits, follow your inner wisdom, and move in ways that feel supportive rather than overwhelming.
As your nervous system begins to feel safer, emotions stop taking over and start becoming allies and messengers — tools you can work with, rather than something you have to fight or suppress.
This space is about building the inner capacity to feel, choose, and engage with your life and your children from presence instead of survival.
At the heart of our work is the wisdom and science of Kundalini Yoga, offered through a trauma-conscious, embodied lens — with spacious room for intuitive movement, rest, and integration, designed to support modern nervous systems and real lives.
Within the Village, you will explore:
All of this unfolds within a supportive rhythm that honors your body, your energy, and the season of life you’re in — rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
Our Village supports you in growing the inner capacity to feel, choose, and engage fully with your life and your children — from presence rather than survival.
I’m Sandra Radha Chand,
founder of Unwind Bliss Yoga, Rest & Healing and THE VILLAGE MOMS BELONG.
Like you, I’m a mom who grew up in an alcoholic family, carrying the weight of survival and overwhelm. When I became a mother, everything felt like too much — and I hit rock bottom, drained, disconnected, and stuck in cycles of stress, guilt, exhaustion, and survival.
At my lowest, I discovered powerful embodied yogic and mindful practices that became my anchor — helping me regulate my nervous system, reclaim moments of peace, and reconnect with a sense of inner strength.
Instead of suppressing or overriding my emotions, I started to experience them as sensations and signals — felt first in the body, before the mind rushed in to explain or judge.
Over time, this changed my capacity — my ability to meet stress, emotion, and the demands of motherhood with more presence, space, ease, and choice. What once felt overwhelming began to move, soften, and pass, rather than stay held inside.
Through my own healing, I began to see how essential it is to gently reconnect with the body — to relearn how to feel, to tolerate sensation, and to allow emotions to move rather than stay trapped inside.
This is where healing truly begins: in the body.
From this place, THE VILLAGE MOMS BELONG was born — so mothers like us can learn to meet life from presence rather than survival.
